- To build understanding of communities on health, family planning and mother and infant mortality issues
- To promote empowerment and self-determination of women
- To mainstream disable and disadvantaged communities through input of learning and training

Governance
DSS is governed by a General Body, which has 12 male members and six female members. The Governing Board has 11 members, including seven males and four females.

Resources
DSS has a small team of eight workers. Of these two male and two female workers are full timers and three male and one female worker are part timer.
One staff member looks after management, one is thematic expert and one is documentation expert. The rest are into multiple roles.
Among the physical resources the organisation has office building, land, furniture, equipment and vehicles.
